Not getting full power

My 89 F-150, 302 EFI, 4x4 doesn' t seem to be getting full power. When you first crank up it doesn't want to idle right. Sometimes it idles high, and sometimes it won't even keep a steady idle and trys to shut off. Also when you're driving it feels as if the engine is sluggish. When you floor it, it doesn't have the take off it should. What should I check?

I'm going to assume that you keep a good tune-up on the truck and change your filter's regularly. The first thing I'd do is clean the throttle body.

Re: Not getting full power

along with the IAC which is on the side of it. But make sure you have done the whole tune up thing first.
