I have replaced 3 power window mechanisms in the past 11 months on 2 2004 F150s. Is that common or expected?

i replaced the front driver side while still under warranty in 2006 and now the rear passenger side dropped. I've taped it up shut till I can figure out how to fix. did you find any do it yourself tips?

Common, unfortunately. Just put in a new regulator.

When was the last time you siliconed the weather strips and window channels?

This is common, I am on number 4 and I have gone to Ford about it. They told me they have not had reports of this problem. I first reported it about 12 months ago and since then I have had to replace three. Two weeks ago my driver side went down and I have not touched it. Ford wants me to bring it in so they can look at it. I had a body shop replace the three others and that saved me 150 on two and 300 dollars on other(free labor on the third). If you search this site you will find many post in regards to this. If we all get together and contact Ford maybe we can get something done about it. Their number is on their site.

My 2004 f-150 driverside window motor/drive stopped working in Nov of 2007, turnred out to be the hub attached to the motor has two plastic pins in a slot on the winding mechanism, these broke. the motor and track cost 110.0 to replace. later discovered the unit can be epoxyed to repair.
