i can't get my 4x4 to engage, it does not have locking hubs nor does it have push button, but it does have the shifter, when i put it in 4h or 4l the indicator lights come on (4x4) and the front drive shaft is turning but my hubs are not locking in, what is my problem? 2003 f 150 4x4 5.4L V8.

im not sure and not that good with gears and stuff but it sounds like ur automatic hubs went out or either ur hubs are stripped out.
