Question about Instrument cluster

I recently bought a 98 F150 and had to replace about 4 of the bulbs in the instrument cluster. After replacing them i plugged the wiring harness's into the cluster and noticed that none of the gauges work. The lights that i replaced worked and it seems that all of the warning lights also work. Is there a fuse that would only effect the gages themselves or could it possibly be the circuit board inside the instrument cluster itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanx

Re: Question about Instrument cluster

Sorry this isn't an answer to you question, But i have a 98 xlt with some bulbs out in the instrument cluster and I was debating whether or not I am goin to replace them, other than the gauges being screwed up did you run into any problems?

Re: Question about Instrument cluster

Actually i was a total noob. The process isn;t very hard just kinda keep in mind what goes where. The bulbs are kind screw locked into the back of the cluster so i used a pair of pliers and very carefully turned the bulb holder. Over all it was a fairly easy process.

BTW...when i pulled my gauge cluster out i accidently pulled the ribbon that carries the signal to the circuit board out of its clip. So i put said ribbon cable back into said clip and it worked......WOO-FREAKIN-HOO!!!
