Rear Diff Breather

Noticed that there was oil vapour on the tail gate. Had a look at my diff (pumkin for some) & found that my breather hose has broken off.
Where should I run the new one to?
I was thinking of running it up onto the chassis rail somewhere. Should I put some sort of filter or valve on the end of it also??
I've heard of people putting a universal fuel filter on the end of it.

Re: Rear Diff Breather

most of the breathers are only run up to an anchor point above the rear and do have some type of filter or valve on the end to prevent dirt entry.

Re: Rear Diff Breather

for 4 wheeling i run the hose into the engine bay, with a fuel filter on the end of it. just run yours into to rail, with a $2 filter on it.

Re: Rear Diff Breather

Ok, thanks guy's.
I have figured out where it's gunna go, but I'm having trouble getting the right type of hose. I believe that it has to be 'oil proof' otherwise it will perish because of the oil. I had a little bit of the original hose left but can't seem to track down any of the same.

Re: Rear Diff Breather

I would just use Rubber fuel line. That should be good enough and should hold up to any potential oil degredation that would occur.
