Rear Differential Problem

I have an '87 F150 4x4. I was going to replace the rear axle seals, just because after 220k miles, I figured it was about time. But when I tried to remove the bolt holding the axle retaining pin (i think that is what it is called), only half the bolt came out.

Has anyone else ever had anything like this and what was the solution. I want to sell the truck, but I hate to sell it, knowing it has that broken bolt, because I know the seals will start leaking eventually.

Re: Rear Differential Problem

the only solution i know of is to drill the center and try to extract the broken piece.
