Rear end compatability.

Yet another swap question for this project..

The Mustang I'm using as a donor car also happens to have a nice rear end in it. 4.10 Gears, Posi-Lock and a Mini-Spool.

I wont lie though, I have no idea what a Mini-Spool is and my understanding of the term Posi-Lock goes only so far as "Both tires spin".. But Im willing to bet its a whole hell of alot better than the stock F-150's rear end..

Is it possible to swap the guts out of the Stang into the F-150's rear end casing? I know I couldnt just swap the case and all.. No way in hell that would work without some serious fabrication I'd say.

Jes curious, =]

Re: Rear end compatability.

if the mustang & the F150' s axles are the same (size & teeth) then the mini spool will most like work,
not sure about the posi-lock but the minimum requirements are the same (axles have to be the same)

As to the gears, no idea, depend on the manafacture of the diffs & the ring gear pattern
