Hi guys

I had the truck a week now & its time to get rid of the stereo.

How does the surround panel detatch??

Can i Fit 2 din modules in the space (stereo & a CB)??

Any one got an link/url to steps of removal?

I can't remember exactly but there should be two screws at the very top of the dash.

Nah not yet my dad borrowed the truck on friday & hasn't brought it back i think he's having to much fun, he's used to the family commuter/mini bus :)

there is a tool you use to get the stereo out. (looks like mini u bolts) the radio should have like 2 little holes on either side of the face.

The following info is from the F Series 1987 - ON Repair Manual Vol.2 Printed in Aust

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable
2. Remove the knobs and discs from the radio control
3. Remove screws securing cluster bezel
4. Remove screws securing radio mounting plate to instrument panel & pull out the radio chassis
5. Disconnect the antenna lead-in cable, speaker wires and radio (power) wire
6. Remove the bolt attaching the radio rear support bracket to the lower edge of the instrument panel
7. Remove the nuts and washers from the radio control shafts and remove the front mounting plate

When I changed over my radio I removed the 2 screws from the cluster bezel, the screws are at the top and I had to carefully with a screw driver prize the top out first. I purchased an plug to connect onto my new radio the will fit the F150's power loom
