starting problems

I own A 96 F150 5.0L. I am having problems getting the truck to start. Here's the deal. The initial problem was when i turned off the truck, it made a soud like it wanted to start. But when i tried to start the truck nothing happened. So i figured that the starter just went bad. Had it checked out and sure enough it was bad. Was thinking that maybe the relay was still engaging the solenoid on the starter.

Replaced the starter and the truck started fine. The next day the damn thing wouldnt start at all. So i checked out the positive cable and found that the jacket was frayed and some discoloration on the wire. So i replaced the positive cable. Put the cable on and checked all connections to make sure that there were no loose connections.

I hooked everythng back up and still nothing. Had the battery and the starter tested and they were both good. I dont get anything inside the cab. no radio or the dome light work. Tried to jump the truck and nothing. Tried to jump with the battery and without.

I dont know what could be the problem here. Planning on replacing the relay to see if that helps, but i could really use some advice on what might be the problem. Im also thinking that there could be a problem with the ignition switch.

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Cause my last resort will be to bring it in and have a shop look at it.

Re: starting problems

Sounds like a fusible link. There should be several.(check any you find) Check all grounds also.
