Starting trouble...

I have a 98 xlt that i bought friday night...and worked perfectly fine then...and before then, when i had it out. Friday night/all saturday/all saturday night we had a big snow storm with very low temperatures and all that jazz, and i went out this morning....took about an hour to dig the truck out, and then jumped in...turned the key....everything lit up....but the engine did nothing...just a "dink" sound......now i've been told that the starting motor could be "frozen" and that its not a big deal....but i dunno....

any ideas?

Re: Starting trouble...

the 'dink' sounds that your hearing may very well be the solonoid pulling in, which is a good thing, but if the started motor does not spin, then there could be a need to replace that, there cold be a loose wire somewhere in the loop, or there could of been some water leaked in and shorted out some things...................................oh.....one last thing...........is the battery flat??
