Steering Gear Box POP? now leaks somewhere

I heard a loud pop and burst a leak of power steering fluid. I checked & hoses are ok and now I think it is the steering gear box as the leak is running down the frame that it is bolted onto and the most liquid seems to be inside this beam...
Hose connections are dry, leak is hidden...some where under the gearbox.
What might I expect to pay after the tow? Manual looks easy but dont have the pitman pull tool.
1990 f150 5.0 2x auto...
Thank you...

Re: Steering Gear Box POP? now leaks somewhere

You can buy a cheapo puller from Harbor Freight for under $20, or some parts stores will loan you one. A good reman box with a warranty (mine came from O'Reilly ~10 years ago) is ~$150, and it's not that difficult to swap if you have some upper-body strength, or a patient assistant.

.

I don't recommend attempting to rebuild the box yourself.
