Throttle body

Whats the best way to clean out a throttle body on a 97 f-150? i just replaced the idle air valve and im guessing that should also improve my mileage. because at the moment im only getting ten miles to the gallon. so does anybody have any idea if replacing the idle air intake valve and cleaning out the throttle body will help my mileage?

over night soaking in injector cleaner works for me , remove and rubber bits or they may swell
