Re: throttle problem

Hi jim
Yes it's possible to reprogram the work parameters of an electronic throttle body. They are usually part of the PCM program. But before you do this check for carbon deposits inside the throttle body that could be causing the plate to stick. cheers

Re: throttle problem

I would quess that with only 2500 miles on a new '07, the problem is with the PCM programing.

Hi
Not necessarily a PCM issue. If you run your engine in summer with low octane fuel, carbon deposits will form very quickly inside your throttle body, restricting the amount of air you get at any given rpm, specially at idle, due to the fact that cars with electronic throttle bodys don't have an air by-pass (IAC). These deposits also cause the plate to stick when they accumulate around the pivot points of the plate. I've also seen a number of motors that jam from being too tight, specially on low mileage cars. cheers
