Tie rod ends - Ford Forums

Hello. I have some major front end work to do on my 93 F-150 4X4. I pretty much know how to do everything but the outer tie rod ends. Am I supposed to count how many turns it takes to get them out of adjusting sleeve and then do the same number to put new ones in? Any help would be appreciated. I am going to be doing wheel bearings, u-joints, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering gear box, coil springs, shock absorbers, and I am not sure but probably spindle bearings as well. I have never done those but it looks pretty simple in my Haynes manual. Thanks guys.

You are right for the tie rod ends, but with a major front end rebuild I would get a wheel alignment when you are all done.

yes you do cout the turns on the tie rod end. note its onlt a basic setting . you will have to have the frontend realined. i would wait untill all repairs are completed before alinement.
