Towing w/ 4.2 v6 F150

I have an '01 F150 w/ 4.2 v6 1. How big a trailer can I tow? 2. Can I do an engine swap when it gets tired for a V8? I bought it when we just had a skiboat.....we are thing of getting a travel trailer....wishin I could afford my F250 Diesel now, but it is a ways away... Mike

is it a manual or auto? How many gears does it have. All this determines how much you can tow. An auto will pull more than a manual.

For your specific vehicle and your options, just check the owners manual and the door tag. The door tag will have your max GVWR and your owners manual will tell you all you need to know about your tranny, rearend ratio, etc. and how they effect your maximum tow rating.
