Tranny Nightmare

I've got a 1978 Ford F150 302 with an automatic transmission. It's got a leak coming from up in front of the trans. I'm assuming its the front pump seal. I'm fairly mechanically experienced but I haven't done this before. Whats the level of difficulty for this procedure? Is this something I should tackle or just get someone qualified?

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Re: Tranny Nightmare

its pretty easy with the tranny out. its a round metal/rubber oil seal tapped in around the input shaft. youl need a pipe or something to get it seated. lube it before putting the tourque conv. back in and dont jar the converter around too much when putting the tranny back in. do you have 4wd? is it worth the hassle? how bad is the leak?
