Tranny won't shift into 5th or reverse - Ford Forums

I have a 91 f150 with a 300-6 and a m5r2 tranny. One day the tranny just would'nt shift into 5th or reverse. I put it into those gears let the clutch out and I can just rev on it as if it were in neutral. Any body ever fixed this problem. I don't think its in the tranny itself just the shifter plate somewhere. If anyone has fixed this problem please let me know what I need to do. Thanks.

Do a GOOGLE search on "Ford M5R2 Transmission". You will get numerous hits, including diagrams, component charts and rebuild instructions....
