I recently purchased a 2001 F150 Supercrew. It is 4x4, 5.4L, with auto trans. w/overdrive. It also had new Michelins installed prior to the purchase. I have noticed that when braking , the truck feels like its trying to hop or vibrate. The stering wheel does not vibrate like a warped rotor. It does not do this every time the brakes are applied. Also, just before you come to a complete stop, say at a light, You can sometimes feel the same pulsing or vibration but at a much lesser degree. Im wondering if it could be the torque converter in the transmission. I am taking the truck to the shop Thurs.for recall service and plan to have the transmission flushed then with a new filter installed. Any other suggestions of what to look for? Thanks.
