1990 E350 Starting Problems
Hello,
I have a 1990 E350 (460 FI Engine with 55K miles) - Camper. We usually park the RV during colder months but I needed to move it to a new location. The temps have been about 20 to 30 deg F outside.
The other day it was very difficult to start. When it finally started it was running really rough and blowing black smoke. After driving it for a few minutes the black smoke went away and the engine ran smoother. There was still a slight "ping" at highway speeds - with no real load on the engine.
I parked the RV and let it sit for about an hour. I started the RV and it ran fine.
However, if the RV sits for a long period of time (cools down) the same symptoms re-appear - hard starting and black smoke.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Paul
