Hey all,
I have a 1994 E350 Ford Club Wagon with a 460 in it. I hope you don't mind, but I want to give all the details of my issue, so it may make the post a bit long.
It had been sitting for about 2 years, and after 1 year they drained the gas, tried to start it, but no go. Then a year later, I took over, added gas to the tank (the tank probably had just a gallon or two of bad gas) and it was misfiring quite a bit. Now, I'm experiencing a misfire at random times while the
car is idling (it never completely stalls, it always stays running), and also while driving.
I've also had a tune up done, and the technician was specifically looking for the cutting out and the misfire. This is what he changed:
New Plugs (OEM FORD)
New Spark Plug Wires (OEM FORD)
New Distributor Cap
New Rotor
Replaced CTS sensor (What is this?)
Changed Ignition coil (same problem)
Cleaned Fuel Injectors
Cleaned Throttle Body
It also does this when I'm low on gas. When going up a hill, the engine will basically cut out several times until I'm on level ground, However, even with a full tank, it will cut out and misfire during idle, and once about every 5-10 minutes.
The issue was a lot more severe until I replaced the TFI module, which then it fixed most of it, but it still happens about once every 5-10 minutes, and a lot more during idling.
I can drive it around, and it's not that bad, but I would like to have it perfectly working. Any ideas from any gurus?
