I have a 1995 Ford E250 and the drivers side manual lock is no longer working. The key will go into the lock just fine but will not turn in the lock. The key works fine for the rear, side, and passenger door locks.

Any ideas of what I can try? Do I need a new door lock kit?

have you sprayed the lock with a good lube. a lot of times road grime gets in there and gums the lock up. if that does not work then you may need to replace the lock

WD 40 or similar lubricant and a little patience working lock side to side can sometimes fix fault .

I tried the lubricant and no luck. The key still doesn't turn in the keyhole.

Any other ideas?

let the lubricant set in the lock for a day then retry. if that still does not work then you may need to have your local locksmith look at it. it may need to be taken apart and cleaned or rekeyd or you could just replace the lock and have 2 keys

How hard is it to take the lock out of the Ford E250 and then take to a locksmith? Could this be the door lock kit or can I still take to a locksmith?

Any directions on how to remove lock?

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Door Lock Cylinder

Raise the window all the way.
Remove the door trim panel and watershield.
Disconnect the lock actuating rod from the lock control clip.
Remove the lock cylinder retaining clip and pull the lock cylinder from the door. On the side doors, it will be necessary to loosen the inside lock control knob set screw and remove the knob.

If equipped with an anti-theft system on early models, spread the locking tabs and pull the anti-theft switch off the lock cylinder. On later models vans, remove the E-clip and lock cylinder lever and then pull the switch from the cylinder.

To install:

Install the cylinder and if equipped, engage the anti-theft switch.

Install the cylinder retaining clip.
Engage the actuating rod to the rod control clip.
Install the watershield and trim panel.
