Bad cat on an E-150?
2000 E-150, 374,000 miles, 5.4
Van was in storage for about two years. Started driving it again and it was running very rough.
Replaced the fuel filter and that helped a bit.
It started blowing off the egr tube that leads to the DPFE. Wouldn't go much more than 25 mpg.
Codes show 2 and 4 misfire and the blown DPFE tube.
I replaced the DPFE. Then I pulled the driver side oxy sensor. It runs much better, not great but at least it made it up to 45 mpg.
I'm thinking backpressure, bad Cat. With the amount of miles should I just core out the Cat? No emission testing here. Work car.
