My 2001 E-350 XLT w/6.8l V-10 engine has vague steering. When the slope of the road changes, the van moves over about 3 feet and puts you out of your lane. Also, there is quite a bit of bump steer. What I mean is that ofen when you hit a bump, you can feel the steering wheel try to turn. I know there is a service bulletin about this.....does anybody have any ideas??
This is a very common problem among Ford trucks with Twin I beam Front Suspension. My 94 E-150 is very vague too. It is because it does not use the modern rack and pinion setup and Still retains the old Steering rod setup. Only way to fix it would be to "tighten up" where the 2 steering rods come togther
