Lost keys - igntion cylinder replacement
I have a 1995 E250 that I picked up at an auction. The van didn't come with keys, re-cuts are not available and I know that Ford can sell me a new ignition cylinder to put in the truck with my proof of my ownership. I also am aware that to remove the old cylinder you should have the key and depress the retaining pin to slide it out.
My question is can I simply drill at the retaining pin underneath until it clears the assembly and then be able to turn the assembly to the "ON" position and slide it out? It looks to me that the tumblers are the only thing that allows that pin to move.
TIA..sorry to post this on the forum, I have a legitimate ownership for this van and need help with this problem..
