Re: question for bert

I'll go ahead and give my opinion. It should be a 5.4L, holds 6qts of oil with filter change. Use a good quality 5W-30 such as Motorcraft, Castrol or similar with a Motorcraft filter.

We use 5w-20 but what jwko said is fine. What has been in it until now?

Re: question for bert

Being this is a 15 passenger van wouldn't 5W20 be too thin?

Re: question for bert

We use it in our Transit buses with the V10 and they go to 300,000 miles when we replace them. Same engine with 2 more cylinders. That's what Ford calls for, so that's what we use.

Re: question for bert

I finally found a manual for this vehicle. It calls for 5W30, that's what I would use.
