95 Ford Probe GT - Modifications - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

New to here, so thought I'd introduce myself.

Im 19, from Hamilton in NEW ZEALAND, work full-time and into Fords badly - if its Ford I love it.

Anyways, I bought a Blue Auto 95 Ford Probe GT a month or so ago and these are the current mods to it:
Pod Filter (only just been put on but I need to get a pipe made up for it and move elsewhere as the fans blow hot air into it - but still goes better with it than with the factory air box).
Blue Interior Neons (front roof, back parcel tray and back seats.)
Stamford 18"x9" Deep Dish Rims with KUMHO Low Profile Tyres (with lock nuts).
Big Bore Exhaust, and removed the Catylactic Converter (will be having a full exhaust system put on when money allows - will include - Custom Extractors & 3" Stainless Steel Piping).
Ultra White Headlights, Blue Spots Lights, Ultra White Park Lights & Blue N/Plate Lights.
Blue Painted Caps in Engine (eg Oil Cap, etc).
Some Interior Plastics Painted Blue.
Sounds - Head Unit, 4 subs (2 x 12" & 2 x 15" Viberant - only got the 12s in at the moment gotta make a box to fit all 4), NBN 2400W amp, 2 Kenwood 6x9s Boxed and Full Wiring Kit. No component speakers yet as the factory speakers dont want to work and they are too hard to get the door trim off to replace and ditto with the speakers in the back.

To Do List:
Drop a manual trans in it (been told this will cost approx 2K in NZ$ NOT including Labour).
Respray in Deep Ocean Blue (my brother said he'd do this - so thats alota money saved!)
Custom Bonnet Vent (just need to figure out how to do this).
Custom Body Kit (or just modify current factory kit).
Full Window Tints (not sure if I want blue or black - my cars theme is Blue!)
Full Interior Retrim in Dark Blue & Light Blue (Not sure what type of material yet).
Full Exaust System - Including: Big Bore (already in use), 3" Stainless Steel Piping, Custom Extractors.
Super Low Kings Springs.

Any clues on any other small/major modifications that can be done to the Probe when money allows and will remain legal to NZ Laws? The above is what I am "wanting" to do when I have money that will allow me to do them. I am going to turn my Probe into a Showcar (which is Street Legal) and able to be taken down the 1/4 Mile. There is currently NO Ford Probes in NZ that are too Show Quality Standards.

Welcome to the Probing lifestyle.
You'll need to do a fair bit a research, after market support for the Probe was never as strong as some othe makes & support in the southern hemisphere is non-existant.
Engine mods are expensive & general not worth may kW, unless you KLZE or go forced induction, body kits are variable in fit quality & expensive to ship.

Hey thanks for that. Any clue if there are any places in Australia that have a belt buckle for Ford Probe? Mines broken (managed to get it to work but its not legal). Tried Ford Fairview Motors in Hamilton, NZ but they said only place is in USA for $313NZD - heck.

Should be interchangable with the Mazada 626/MX6 of the same vintage.
