Announcing the "True Street Autocross Series"

Hi all,

I am announcing a concurrent race series called the "True Street Autocross Series".

Participants will run in their own classes at autocross events and the raw/pax times will be used to determine the finishing order for each event. The schedule will include scca, nasa or other local events. Preliminary season will be 12 events with 3 drops.

As the name implies, "True Street Autocross Series" is for cars used as real cars- no trailer queens or race-only cars need apply! Winners declared in "Raw Time" and "Pax Time" divisions.

Email me back if you are interested at Black94PGT@pacbell.net

Get the details at: http://home.pacbell.net/jcre/truestreet.html

Thanks, and hopefully we can have some fun competing as "True Street" cars. :)

Cool - I was asking because someone is selling 4 wheels with 205/60/15 Comp T/A R1's on them. I think they are the same tires that Billy was running on 2 of his Panasports.

I still can't figure out if the T/A R1's were better or not than the Toyo Proxes R1's....

And and another auto-X question - going from the stock tires to the 205/60/15 would reduce my tire track width by just over an inch - I know that wider is better, but wider is also more drag and our engines aren't that big. Will the width decrease be detrimental enough to traction (and grip) to justify not getting them?

i dont know if i would go to a 15" wheel. these wheels should be a fair bit smaller in diameter, which is equivalent to shorter gearing and lower ride height- could be good or bad depending on the course... maybe mostly good as long as you can get power down out of the corner.

more important than the width of the tires is the width of the wheel. 205's on an 8" rim would be ok, on a 6" rim, dont bother. you want at least an 8" rim, preferably wider if they will fit.
