Hi all, I have a 97 6cyl probe and its like I don’t have it cause its been at the repair shop for more that 2 months and they still cant find the problem. Basically it’s misfiring and trembles when ever I push gas and wont move just shakes and sometimes fuel cut of light appears. My mechanic has tried a lot of things…last he checked the computer and it was ok, and I don’t know much about cars except how to drive them so any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Now I regret for buying this car because it seams that this car has a lot of “mysterious problems”. And not one mechanic knows this car here in Brisbane

There is nothing overly mysterious about the Ford Probe mechanically. All the car's mechanicals are Mazda 626/MX6/Telstar sourced and there were plenty of these sold for you to find someone who knows what they are doing.

Thanks but when it comes to fixing cars I’m clueless so I think I’ll leave it to my mechanic but its frustrating cause I’ve had some problems before with it and from what I could gather from the net this car can become a huge problem, which is what I got, anyways wish me luck.

My gut feel is it will be the leads; get yourself & the car to a Mazda / Telstar specialist. Its not that hard!
People make excuses because there are less than 2,000 in Australia but mechanically these cars are pretty standard; they do like their maintenance i.e. service regularly.

Its finally fixed and it was the computer that was causing all those problems, got it replaced and now its working fine
