Expert elect assitance needed with Power Window
96 Probe GT.
left my window open in a hard rain. all night.
the window now rolls down when i supply power (start the car) and there's a steady clicking in the armrest where the switchbox is. i've taken the switchbox out, and apart, and cleaned the green electronics board (my mind's blank what it's called..) where i found grime crossing the runs and the problem would be corrected temporarily, only to return within the day.
if i rock the switch forward, it works erratically - sometimes it'll roll all the way up, sometimes it won't connect at all. sometimes it'll roll partially up. clearly there's something that's not making a solid connection, which suggests that i was on the right track cleaning the greenboard.
odd thing is, when i bring the car home, i won't usually be able to roll the window back up without being VERY persistent with the UP switch. IF I LET THE CAR REST AND RETURN TO IT LATER, THE SWITCH WILL ROLL THE WINDOW BACK UP FIRST TIME. this sounds like behavior of a mechanical part, not an electrical part...? yes, no?
i can't find this Switchbox anywhere, Ford or Mazda. a junkyard will have one, probably, but the only one i found from a '96 is miles away. i'm guessing that this part is used in several models.
anyone know what models this part (and what it's called) can be gotten from?
anyone have an idea what might be the electrical problem with these symptoms?
