How women shop for electronics...

So I am doing my shopping online again this year. The nice thing about shopping online is that you can research the products and buy accordingly. At the store you really can't do much research. All you can do is look at the brand name and the price. So my sister wants a Philips DVD player for Christmas. I ask, "why Philips"? I shouldn't have asked. She wants it because she has a Philips TV and she wants them to match. Sigh. Now if I find a better player for a little more or less money I'm going to be wondering if she's not going to like it because it doesn't start with the "P" word. Dammit, I should just get her and every woman on my list a gift certificate.

that's actually a pretty good idea john.

and i bought my home stereo under the same premise too.

oddly enough, my tv, vcr, and stereo were all manufactured by the same company. hmm.

No need to sterotype or generalize. Some guys are just as ignorant when it comes to shopping for electronics.

Dude, I buy the best for the money. That's all there is to it.

My home electronics are totally mis-mathed.

RCA Proscan TV
Pioneer Reciever
Fisher "Studio Standard" Tape Deck (yes, I still have some tapes)
Sony 5 disc carousel
JVC VCR
Gateway Laptop for the DVD player:s5
BOSE 301s for the mains
JBL Center
JBL Rears

And I just sold my subs. They were car subs anyway! lol!

And it all sounds good enough for me.

One of my favorite pieces of electronics would have to be a Teac 1260. For those of you born after 1980, you might not know what it is. hehe. This is what I grew up listening to classic rock on. Beatles, Cure, Who, Pink Floyd. All the great bands. My parents had it hooked up to a Pioneer reciever from the early 70s which works better than any other piece of stereo equipment I've ever seen. I guess my parents have some good taste in electronics.
