i know i know, but I wanted it in this forum.........

So, had my tranny rebuilt, put it back in and it acted up.
I researched what was going on and it sounded like the tranny pump was bad to me.

So I got an old tranny friday, and was gonna switch the tranny pumps, and when my dad pulled the tranny pump out, a bunch of metal shavings came out. Now, Im guessing this means the tranny pump is bad, right?

I didnt get to replace the pump because the retard gave us the wrong one.....so.....just wondering.......

Usually theres magnets in the Tranny pan to catch that

more than likely you have the old style pump, try to get the new style(youll see the diff)93-94 and some early 95's(like mine born on 10/24/94)
also check the tor. conv. for burned paint, if the paint is burnt replace it
and pray that it didnt mess with the tranny

I went to oreillys a couple months ago to get a price on one, and there were like 4 for the 4eat transmission. They or I didnt know which one I needed for a 93 PGTa

if you have the cd4e tranny it is 250 just for the pump
and then there is like 300 in labor
you might as well replace the rear main seal while your there

just go to any tranny place and ask how much a tranny pump for a gt with a 4eat tranny
i would bet if it is about the same price

i had a tranny shop charge me 350 for a used tranny pump on my gen1 lx. that was for the part!

never go used with the tranny pump on a 2gen
ecspeaically with the old style
I did.
A year later i needed the new pump
cost me more all together then if i just paid for it when i had the tranny replaced
about 500 more
so it is well worth it
