Need help with Indiglo Gauges

Hey.... I just bought a set of indiglo gauges for my 95 Probe GT.. They only thing im not sure about is if i should take off my speedometer and tachometer needles because they rest on a pin at the bottom below 0. I was thinking that removing the needle to install the gauges would make the mechanism behind the needle to drop down because it is no longer supported by that pin.. If anybody has any information on this or know of a site that tells how to install the gauges correctly it would be very helpful..
