Ford never really pushed the Probe down here in Oz, and I guess sales reflected this.
I'd really love to get some Probe memorabilia, and I thought that some 'original' Ford Probe ads from magazines etc would be really cool. Hey, if there were TV ads that anyone has (see: diehard Probe fanatic) then that would be even better.
I've been looking back over some old motoring magazines that I have found, but have located nothing.
If I can get scans that would be great. A fellow Probe owner here in Melbourne, Australia has access to an A0 plotter with photo paper and cartridges, and we have a 'national' meet in August (4 weeks away). I thought it would blow some of the members away to get a look at some blowups of these while we're together.
I know what you mean. My friend used to have a huge Probe GT poster when it first came out - the second gen in 93 that is... When I bought my first Probe I asked him if he still had it but he got rid of it... I remember I woulda given anything to get a Probe poster.
Anyways try Ebay, theres always some stuff there... Good luck!
I liked the 93PGT Ad showing it with the "JD Power Car of the Year" trophy. I remember another ad, someone else mention this one. The Commercial showed a Red Mustang GT, red Probe GT, and a red Escort GT. All three were driving around curves and all. Cool Ad !!!!!!
They didn't push it much here either--I only saw one ad that happened to be running at the time I was looking for a car. Not that it helped them any, I already had the PGT on my 2-car short list.
one of the POCs recently made a post about their new website, on which they had scanned a bunch of articles and ads about the Probe. I cant remember which one it was...azpoc perhaps...
HAVE YOU DRIVEN A FORD LATELY?
I just saw it a couple of months ago, I was like what the heck, Ford is gonna start advertising 4 years after they discontinued the PGT ?!?!?!? I guess they wanted to drive up used car prices...

I copied some of the MT articles at the library. The local library has MT in hard copy on the stacks going back to the late 80's. Its not as good as having the actual mag on hand, but at least I have the articles! BTW, the Probe GT beat both new F-bodies that year! It should have been a sign to GM that the Camaro and Firebird weren't that good when they introduced them if MT thought the Probe was better! The only mystery is why they lasted 5 more years than the Probe!
Berry, yeah I am over at PT too. I ended up registering here when the ATX club board moved over to this site, but never really got back to posting.
Since PT is down (I dunno why, just cannot get on) I thought I'd check out how this board was doing.
BTW, congrats on your ALPOC club! I remember when James told me there was a group trying to get one started. Its tough to get a bunch of dedicated members!
You know James? Cool. We're growing. I just got a couple of Tuscaloosa members this week. This after putting out somewhere over 75 flyers (I don't keep a count).
B
Yep, I bought James' tri-star rims a couple years ago in Columbus Ohio of all places! lol. I was there to get the wheels and attend the Fiero nationals.
I know its tough recruiting! I was involved for a short time with a couple local Probe owners trying to get a local club started. Nothing happened initially and things mostly fell apart. I know they have a small group going again, but I haven't been active with them. Flyers is a good idea, but the biggest problem I think is most of the owners just have them for daily transportation, and could care less. But its the best way to advertise the club too! Good luck!
