I am new to the probes and I don't know wether they are a good car or not. I will probably be bying one soon so I would like some info. I am looking for the pros and cons about them (it doesnt matter what age range) What probes produce the most horsepower and what probes are the fastest?

I belive the 1988/89 thru 1992 GT had 190 hp 145lb torque 2.2l turbo.

Cons for the 2nd generation (1993-1997) prices for parts are high and few, but the Mazda 626 and MX-6 share the same platform, chassis, engines etc.... Stay away from automatic transmissions. Distrubutors aren't worth a flip. Not cheap to upgrade except CAI, headers, and exhaust. Pros, it looks good, handels very well. Fun to drive if you live in a curvy area. Lots of room in the back with rear seats up or down. Everything is at your finger tips, air, radio, etc.

hey man i now that the 89-92 probe gt is the best buy for the buck. i pick one up as well as my 89 probe lx and the are really nice cars. if you dont want alot of speed go for an standard not automatic the reason is alot of the late model probe automatics have things wrong with them and there alot more slugish you might say. i have drove an auto and it to me was not worth nothing. i love the 89-92 probe gt cuz only one with turbo stock and they are very quick when fixed up. i like my lx as well as my gt. out what i have delt with probes the lx is very nice with the dectail gages and eletric everything is nice. check out cardomain for cars there alot of sweet ideas.
