Im currently ready to order my BA XR8 Ute. But i have shot myself in the foot, leaving it so late in the year to order. Basically i wont get the ute until November 2003 which makes it a late model 03 car. But my other option is to order a January 04 model which makes the car a year newer? Does that make sense? I'm just wondering if it is worth waiting for the 2004 model car or should i just order it now in get the 03?
Just a quick note, if you compare the 2002 to 2003 BA XR8 Ute 'Trade In' & 'Private Sale' price, there is around $2500 difference. So what is worrying me, is if i get the 2003 model, i will be loosing around $4000 just by driving the car out & another $2500 when it hits the year 04. Which is only 2 months away.

I was thinking the same thing myself and my theory is that i've waited this long whats a couple of months going to do.
Go the 4 ( if you can wait).
It will translate into $$$ (dealers / traders go by year, and will screw you, even if it is only by 2 months - I've a december car - i *know* ), and also buyer preference.
In general, for each month you wait, hopefully they refine the build quality more and more as well . . .
Plus, if its late january, it will be after school hols, and out of double demerit time - much better when you have a new toy to play with
Can't offer much more advice, but have you considered waiting until the 2004 model and looking at getting a 2003 model - as they will most-likely be that little bit cheaper?

It's so close now, I'd wait for 04 if it were me. Later build cars have usually better quality, resale and often pick up a few extras as the initial sales rush slows.
