Okay guys - I need some help here for a friend who is looking for a new car, and I need some suggestions, Ford or otherwise. The limiting factors are the following:

The car must cost no more than $16,000 (second hand)
There is no size preference, though medium prefered
The car must be reasonable to insure
The car must be stock"ish"
The car must be insurable under a normal policy
The car must have KM less than 85K
The car must be younger than 1996
There is no defined preference for fwd or rwd, although the car must not be fragile/ can take Kms.
Preference for power options.
The car must be reliable.
This car should be able to replace a medium V6 - towing ability is not an issue.

I'd appreciate your help.

So far I've suggested Bommodore VT S2, AU Falcon SR pack (what series ?), AU XR6 - what series ? Vienta for cardigan shopping, Pulsar N15 Sr20, Laser SR20

EL 4.0 Ghia. Though getting one with those K's might be an issue.

AU2 Forte, should be able to get a decent one for 15k easy.

I was going to suggest a TX5 Ghia, but I guess it's a little too old.

What about the last of the Telstar/626 twins.

they had the 2.5 V6 option and power everything (in the Mazda anyway), just not sure what they go for second hand...
