I too agree that 180 would be too much. Most people arn't enthusiasts of course, and those that are tend to go for the HIPO models.
But the media is certainly getting a bit hooked on the 170-180kw figure for the 'base' engine, they say. I could understand such figures for the XR and Ghia VCT models or whatever, but the do seem to be making a point of saying it's for the base engine....
I think it will most likely be around 165kw as well, but it's strange all the same.
Dont be surprised if you dont get this turbo on an XR6 level car. At the moment the turbo is just like the 5.4L V8 - pure speculation. If a turbo was going to be available, it would probably be more appropriate on a T series badged car (and no doubt priced accordingly - how much do you think one of those things would cost, sheesh)
So what to call it? a TT40 or TT50 or....dunno...

Ok i have to predict that power of the AV base 6 would be around the 170kw mark ie current VCT model.
I realise some of you say that it's too much power, but we have to contrast it this way if commodore are already up to 152kw Magna up to 163kw and rising, we have to be at least 172kw to stay ahead of the pack. Keep in mind the falcon is a heavier and bigger car than Magna.
Perhaps i speak for the minority but i contrast it this way, back in the days of my EF in 1994, most powerful Magna was 120kw falcon had a comfortable 37kw advantage, now it's down to a few kw's if ford don't upgrade to 172kw+ then i'm afraid the legendary falcon power advantage would be lost. Basically i won't be chuffed if a falcon gets creamed by a Magna.
Look reality is this a Falcon is not a BMW Ford cannot sell and under powered falcon just like BMW sells an under powered 318i, market wouldn't accept it.
Just my thoughts..

It's more than pure speculation. Trust me. And it won't be a T-Series. It'll be an XR6.
