HSV's got them, FPV has too now, but is it good or bad?

Considering the price per rim is what, around $4-500 a tyre? And what about road noise and those of us who live in country areas where a good pothole can destroy a rim?

dnt get me ring 19's look hot i had a set of simmonds on my esp. front tyres i never changed but the rear i put 2 pairs on them and i hardly drive the car.
with 19's because the is less tyes wall from what ive been told they tend to wheel spin alot; which means you will go through alot of tyres
you will get road noise with cheapo tyres but not with the better brand ones

personly i recon they look good on the new gt's

19's are good but expensive to shoe. $4-500 per tyre is for average tyres too, the tyres on my 17's are worth $400 each.

19's look great, but as you noted rubber comes at a premium for 19's and its something I would rather not have to spend so much money on, quality 17 rubber is expensive enough.

they suit the bigger cars but they are expensive for tyres.

I can see it form both sides. While they are expensive, so is the car, so that shouldn't be an issue. But then what about the seconf hand market?

Personally I dont think you really need rims bigger than 17' on a family sedan unless your doing some track work.

What I'm finding difficult to understand is why on the GT which has 18" wheels FPV use 245s, yet on the GT-Ps 19" wheels they only have a 235s?

I don't think that 20"s will be coming out onto factory performance vehicles any time soon. By this I mean HSV/FPV as most others do have them but they become irrelevent.

19s are big enough IMO. But i can see both sides of the argument.
Having said the the 19s on the GTP are f*cking sexy! - Best wheels on any BA thus far.

ive seen pics of a VS with 20's..looks bloody stupid! Almost as bad as hatch backs with 17's!..lol

Puts99 - I think the F6 rims are better IMO
