Well it seems that Holden are doing what they always have done.
They know that they have an inferior product, so they compensate
by trying to make it the most powerfull. Well, it's worked for them in the past, and I'm sure it will work again. Boy, they sure don't like having less power than Ford.
Now BAII will need to lift outputs by the same amount to stop AUI vs VTII type scenario happening again.
Anyone care to speculate as to what BAII power figures will be, here is my list:
XT 6 - 182kW (No need for more)
XT V8 - 230kW (To come closer to SV8)
Failane V8 - 235kW (To match statesman)
XR6 N/A - 195kW (Just put a different exhaust etc. than XT)
XR6T - 240kW (No increase needed here)
XR8 - 275kW (It already needed this, but now even more so)
GT - 305kW (Lovely)
GTHO - ???kW (enough to beat the GT by half a second)
The only problem with these "ideal" figures would be 8 different outputs, which could reduce economies of sacale.
Interesting times ahead !
