Surprised you guys haven't commented on Motor mags story on the new DOHC sixes. The standard turbo'd version is predicted to be about 210kw but Tickford have successfully got it to 270kw.

A 5.4 260kw is rumoured for the XR8 and Motor understands Tickford is developing a 300- 330kw version and building 2000. Hmmm do I hear GT.

In answer to the 330KW GM admits the shelves are bear as the 6.2 used in the marloo ute was a one off and would require 12 months development etc etc.

I am sure they are. In the same mag, they talk of a 7.0 motor that costs 45k. They ponder if the world is ready for a 200000K HSV.

The New Holdens and HSVs will be on the streets before these 5.4 motors are out anyway so we won't have long to wait

except for myself, all my mates look at the engine capacity and they think 5.7 will use more fuel than 5(and so on). Going to 7 litre is silly and wouldn't attract buyers.

I think it's a good idea if ford bring variety of v8s, 4.6-4.6 SC- 5.4- turbo 6, etc,,,,,

buy a v8 and worry about fuel something wrong with that :)

the 7.0 LS1 have not made it into production cars in the us somehow I doubt it would roll off the production line here

although there is some talk i think to enhance a corvette model to this spec to enable them to compete with the viper

When I was speaking with the guy that took the AWD commo` for a spin a few months back, he also said the 6.2L was being tested in two on road HSV`s including an R8. Motor also took it for a spin, and a lot of the bugs had been ironed out. Me thinks why bother with all this on road testing if they are not going to release it as a production model??????????

Read Holdens response about fords kw war response with Inline 6 DOHC and Turbo, range of 4,6 and 5,4 V8's.

Apparently they say holden don't have anything on shelf to match ford and will take 1 year to develop. Quite frankly I think statement is not true. As they say never underestimate your enemy.
