351 in xc on p's in vic?

Hi guys just a quick one.

Does any one know if you can drive a xc with 351 on your p's in vicco?

I know its over in the power to weight ratio rule but i remember reading somewhere that you can drive a 351 in the xc coz it was the first year to have the pollution gear so the power went down form the xb. Is this true?

and also do you know what other models you can drive with 351 on p's?

THanks guys

Aaron

I think it was the XC GXL 351 that was the exeption and everything else with a 351 wasn't allowed

WTF. . . in Victoria a P-plater can't drive a '51. Hahaha you poor b**tards. What is the power to weight ratio in Victoria? Is this the same in NSW, ACT and QLD because in WA there is no such thing. We have the freedom to drive 426ci mach 1 mustangs if we so desired (or have the $$$). Yeah I think you should just put 4.9 decal on the side and they won't be able to know...

I think philstoj is right from memory, with the Fairmont GXL being OK to drive on P's. As well as the Fairlane/LTD models of the same vintage. Lower advertised power than older models Vs heavier weight = less than 125Kw per tonne
A Falcon 500, GS or Fairmont with the 5.8 would be a no go I suppose.

Yeah 125kw per tonne. I am Driving a EL XR6 on my P's, 164kw/1557kg and the thing is ill kick an old falcon with a stock 351 on the quarter. Bit stupid I reckon.
