5.4l V8

Can anyone give me a history lesson on the V8 for the AV Falcon.

- How old is it

- Max Power Output

- Is it the same engine as in the SVT Lightningor the SVT Cobra R

Just curious thats all

It is a new engine so very little is known about it. It has not been used in any cars in the US yet.

How old: brand new

max power: we will find out sonner or later

is it the same as in the lightning etc: NO!

hahaha
i knew dk was gonna spring to action as soon as someone mentions 5.4 and V8 in the same sentence.

as DK said (and as i've learnt from him) the engine shares basic components with the american 5.4L V8 but it will feel like a completely different engine - more low down torque. i guess ford doesn't want an LS1 where you have to rev the shit out of it to get some decent HP.

yeah, good point...

it's gotta suck being an admin! you've got work to do, unlike us who are free to roam the ranges as we please, and then you have to keep the relationship between FF.com and Ford Oz in good shape... big responsibility if you ask me! good job though! :)

Hehehe about the 5.4L V8 in our falcon, all i have to say is the T3 250kw 5.6L Windsor is just only a warmup, enough said.

I am excited.... :s2: :s2:

dont think so,

base model 5.4 will be 240Kw minimum.
other variants will be 265~270
and 300+ for top of the range

Here's my bet. The 5.4 will make at least 260kW for the base models. After all, the 4.6 Mustang makes a claimed 240kW! Mind you, I have been wrong before. Only once though! Ha Ha!!!
