I am in the market for a 5ltr EL Ghia or even a 5ltr EL Fairmont that is mint. Has anyone actually seen one for sale lately particularly in the SA area!? I have been looking all week on all the car sales type sites with no results! Only AU Ghias with V8s.. If you know anyone that is selling one or know where one is for sale please let me know!

You should have been looking around here not so long ago, Big Mick (I think it was) had the best Fairmont EL with 5ltr and mod's I have ever seen,If I wasn't so worried about fuel consumption and didn't allready have my XR I would have snapped it up quick smart,it was exactly what I was after,even the right colour and a good price aswell, but I'm sure they are around just not as common as some, but they are out there.

They are around, just not in huge numbers, after all lets say approx 10% of Falcons would have been Ghias, and maybe 10% of those with the V8, 20% at the most. That would mean roughly (very roughly) 2-3000 EL V8 Ghias were made.

ss-gt, they're not expensive, I'd say about $15k for one in good nick with low kms would be right.

Yes they certainly do exist. My mates sellin his one, it's an SVO aswell, used to be a showcar. Has the SVO kit, lowered, 17inch rims, full respray, very low K's etc etc. It's not cheap though. Here's a pic...

When I bought mine, there were 2 in Brisbane, both 5 ltrs, both burgundy, both at a similar price. I do think you'll pay a bit for one however considering they are so rare. There seem to be more NF/FL fairlane ghia's in V8s, would you consider one of them? The fairmont ghia got more goodies I think... premium sound, leather standard, these things went in the LTD but not the fairlane as standard.
