60kph, then 50, then 40.... now 10!!!

check this out for a joke... dont let them trial it here in Vic, you know the cops will sit there with radars and speed cameras to book you for doing 12!

http://www.drive.com.au/news/article...X28XACSVD.html

As evidence suggests, whenever they trial a lower speed limit, they will always bring it in permanently.... what next? 5km/h zones, then 2, then 1.... at least it can't get much worse than that! - i dont think

Not a bad idea for the problem they face, I agree with the statement from the resident about it being very hard to actually drive at 10km/h (too slow) but so long as it is sensibly enforced I think it would work well.

Next thing you know, coppers will be hding near where your car is parked and they'll book you when you're idling at too high an rpm during cold start in the wee hours of the morning...even if you don't get caught at idle, you'll be stuffed when you shift inot gear and roll out of your lot coz it's an instant 8km/h.

Be careful, you might just get booked also for shuffling your feet.

Sounds like they are leading the lambs to slaughter....I mean drivers to slaughter...I mean drivers to the cash registers.

Start car, engage gear, release clutch...gently, gently...... FLASH!! Gotcha, $100 and 1 point thanks!

Re: 60kph, then 50, then 40.... now 10!!!

Maybe we could have speed limiters fitted in our cars like in pit lane.
Although they didn't work for skafie!
Installations could be funded buy the government of course (not bloody likely).
