I believe they are called Cathedral Engines. Huge diesels that poduce progioius power at low RPM, used in supertankers.
Was a very interesting English series on TV starring Robbie Coltrane about such thing. Seems he finds 2 strokes crude and annoyingly noisy, but effective, and gets off on V8s.. you gotta admire his taste.

I have the whole series on video. Some of it is very funny, like where his producer gets him to cook a marshmallow in a Jet aircraft's afterburner! Also some of the Bentleys and Mercs that they used to race around Brooklands.
Wow thats an impressive engine. I would love to see it in action. 101rpm hmmm thats very slow...but the power...ohh imagine the torque :) Does anyone know the displacement of the engine (litres of CI)?

Plagiarised from the abovementioned web site Bore just under 3'2" and the Stroke is just over 8'2". For those counting, that comes out to 1,333,722 cubic inches (read as: one million three hundred thousand plus!) for the twelve cylinder version!
