Well my week off from work has been very productive and I've accomplished something I didn't think I would have got done in time. The XR8 was finally registered and back on the road late yesterday afternoon. I have many people to thank including mates and club members for providing assistance with getting parts at a good price and helping out.
It all went back together pretty smoothly, a few things arent 100% perfect, especially the paint work at the moment as it was a rushed backyard job, you can't really tell in the photos except for the bonnet which is a total abortion. All the little niggly things will be fixed up in the near future but the main thing is that it's all back together, roadworthy and registered.
And before anyone asks yes the car is insured, organised Full Comprehensive Insurance on it this morning through RACQ.

The Bumper in the middle of painting, you can see both an EF and EL XR Grill there, the EL grill is a straight fit onto the bumper but the bumper support needs a bit of modifying with a grinder for it to fit on properly. I ended up using the EF one to save time but the EL one will definitley be going on in a few weeks when I have the time to stuff around with it
Once again I'm having a ball driving it, it still feels solid to drive and theres no vibrations or rattles and even the wheel alignment is pretty right, so all the damage was cosmetic thankfully.
The plans for the near future with the car is to save up and get a full respray on it, the funds I had set aside for the paint job have been seriously eaten up so it's gonna be a few months for this to happen. After that I'll probably start with all the usual 5L stuff.
