hi guys,

i was driving arround today and i came across a caryard selling a black 88 mustang GT (MAN) looked great. and with 64000miles wasnt to far up there.

had papers for conversion but when he said selling for $25000 my jaw dropped. i thought he was joking.

maybe 10, some might think that is high, but i think that would be fair for that type of car.

anyways thats my 5c

what does everyone else think

$25k is really a joke. You could probably import one from the US and convert it yourself for cheaper.

i just checked out carsales and found another for the same price, the one on the net has leather trim, red and only 50000miles on the clock.

i also just noticed that the oddometer only goes to 99999 so may not indicate true mileage of the car. mind you a mechy would pick it up straight away. plus all the extra wear would show on the seats and things.

Don't know about now. But these Mustangs used to cost about $15K to convert to RHD. Maybe pick a good one up in the US for 5 or AU$6K + AU$2K shipping and then the import duty which was something like 70% and your up in the $25K + range easily.

really that much i would have thought about $7000 but i can be wrong like many other things.

Are you referring to the conversion Ben?

If so, they arn't an easy conversion, from memory they used a P/S Cortina steering rack (Rare), the engine is offset mounted and has to be shifted, Firewall is cut/shut into about 5 different sections, wiper motor/sweep, all new brake lines, wiring loom and then you have the dash and heater box/aircon.
It was all one off stuff a few years ago and was around $15K or so, don't know of any web sites on it though.
