One year ago tonight I watched the late news to see the most horrifying sight of my life. On the anniversary of this tragic and senseless occasion I thought it would be a good idea to use these boards to extend the hand of friendship to all of the US members of these boards and to anyone who was personally affected by this tragedy. I followed the advice of the Australian media and turned on my car headlights to mark the anniversary and was moved to see the number of people who had done the same.
I will never understand the motives which prompted these acts.
To all that have been impacted by 9/11, please accept my best wishes. I hope that one day your world will recover, and that you can again live in peace and harmony.
danny bows his head in respect! my cousin was home on maternity leave from teh week b4 cause she was expecting a baby. lucky us, but full respect and honour for all those who were not so lucky, god bless
I won't be watching the "Re-live the horror" shows on TV, once is enough, and it sickens me that the media and business can't even keep its grubby hands off the memory of Sept 11.
The fact that one of the worst acts of jealousy is being used to sell products and generate ratings is disgusting. You just wait and see how many ads are seen because of this.
I got woken up Sep 12 last year by my Dad ringing from NZ. I watched TV all day and saw things I'll never forget.
I watched the special on CH9 last night because I was interested in what Rudy Gulliani had to say - it was a good show - no blame, just the impressions of the Mayor, his staff and New Yorkers on the street. I still cried watching it.
We left our TV off at work today and mine hasn't gone on at home tonite. I don't need to see any more.
Yes my deepest thoughts to the lives lost on 9/11 disaster. Very sad indeed.
As what GTH04 mentioned lets hope we can stop these disasters for the future.

Have to agree totally with Peter & Brendan. Even people in New York are sick of all the media hype about Sept 11 with many prefering to spend time with their close friends or family rather than go to one of the plethora of memorial services to have some moron point a camera in their face and bother them with dumb questions.

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen. It said, 'Parking Fine.'So that was nice.
I would have to agree with what you guys have said in that it is sickening to see how the media has played upon this event and all for material gain.
It was a very sad and also frightening day when I saw what happened on 9/11, however it was also frightening at what implications this has for the world of late and what exactly the implications this may and most probably will have in the future. Lets just hope that the US doesn't go overboard, cause I can only imagine how they feel but invading countries may not be the solution to this issue.
My heart goes out to all who have been affected by this tragedy.
