I studied a Bachelor of Surveying, I have 2 years experience as a chainman and some party leading, I will be spending 3 months being brought up to speed at my new job and then i get a company car and more responsibility.
I'll be doing mostly cadastral surveying, idents, setouts, DTMs, Building Format Plans etc and some engineering surveying later on. My boss is a real champ and has expressed interest in paying for me to get Licensed like he is so I can consult and earn more money. But that is 5 years away, but nice to know I have the opertunity.
Its funny you mention that, I am thinking of doing a planning degree to go with the surveying one, makes for a killer combo with development.
Yeah mate, I will miss the pub, our social club won the VB
beer drinking competition, and we had $500 left on a $1500 bar tab prize at the pub to finish last night. I'll miss $3 jugs of Stella thats for sure!!
Don't worry about 4 years man, time flies, expecially when you start working in the field you study.
I know how you feel, but at the same time I'll miss it. In the same strange way I missed grade 12....
