'95 WinStar - Knocking at idle.
Not sure if this is the right place to put this but:
Someone I know has a '95 Winstar with the 3.8L engine, 140k on it. The engine has slowly developed a knock at idle.
The knocking seems to be coming from the left of the engine (passenger side).
Only lately, the engine has started missing at idle, but as soon as you pass 2k RPM the knocking disappears and the engine smooths out.
I don't know much about these engines, but could it be related to the timing belt, and tensioner? Or...?
Any help would be greatly apperciated. Thanks.
